The All Japan Softball Championship

This Womens Softball Championship was started in 1949 while the Men had to wait a further 6 years for the Mens Softball Championships to be established. All aspire to winning this title as it is the most coveted in Japan.

As well as teams in The Japan League, teams from university age upwards are all entitled to play but they must first get through local city tournaments. After then progressing past prefectural blocks, they can finally compete on the big stage for the honor of becoming Japan`s Best.
A total of 32 teams compete in The All Japan Championships itself. All matches are played on a knock-out basis which ensures fiercely competitive games and an atmosphere quite unique to this tournament alone.
